The road is paved with sunflowers,
Sprouting from the pockets of the enemy.
An invasion was ordered in just mere hours,
To secure Kyiv and steal your identity.
But like the myths of the Greeks and Romans before you,
You stood aloft on your defensives, head held high and fear unbecoming,
Because the blood in your veins pulses yellow and blue,
You jeer the villain forthcoming!
With an anthem in your heart and a mind of sorrowful rage!
And through your war cry, your will remains resolute along this earthen lane.
You celebrate your independence day while writing your own history, page by page,
Your story is legend and you have inspired us all, now and forever—glory to Ukraine!
