A year retires to the back pages of history,
While the world welcomes another and sees what this new year can provide—
And already, we surmise this year is brimming with mystery
We, the world, settle in for this roller-coaster ride.
Much can be said and written about the tea leaves,
And how they spell a story of grim wonder
As the author behind the desk weaves.
But we sometimes fail to understand life’s greatest blunder;
Life is a story of undisciplined indecision,
It leaves its writings with plot twists and plot holes as it tries to make us think.
It is easy to forget while Life tries to regale its readers with imprecision,
That life is a story written in invisible ink.
And what eludes us this coming year,
However nonsensical the author may be, in this game of Life truly,
Is something that should not induce fear.
Because why should we dwell on anything that remains unruly?
